Networks Announce Line-ups!

ABC: The fall schedule will feature (8) new programs, (5) dramas and (3) comedies. For sports fans, the Saturday Night College Football will be the highlight. The Network also has (3) additional shows waiting as replacements should one of these fail.

CBS: There are (5) new shows planned for the top Network. A variety of dramas (3), comedy (1) and reality (1) will roll out with much fanfare. The reality show Kid Nation, challenges 40 kids (8-15) to build a new society.

FOX: Three new reality shows will be added to the line-up in addition to (2) dramas and a comedy. Back to You may be the best of roll out with stars Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton.

NBC: Supernatural is the theme for the new season. Three of the (4) new series will focus on supernatural elements. Friday Night Lights will return along with Sunday Night Football. There is one new comedy, but it will serve as a reserve as well as (2) new reality shows.

CW: The newest Network has (6) new series; (3) dramas, (1) comedy and (3) magazine style shows. Half of the new line-up will air on Sunday nights.

Hometown cable, which serves Tradition, Tesoro, Magnolia Lakes, Viscayla and several other communities has begun selling commercial time on their system. These are all upscale neighborhoods and a very target audience. The company has ambitious expansion plans. Look for additional competition (for Comcast) now that the rules governing cable systems has changed.

Port St. Lucie magazine has joined numerous other print newcomers. Indian River, Home Mag, Buy Smart, Guide for Homeowners, Design In Style and Stuart Magazine are a few of the others.

Additional stations may be changing hands. Nexstar (49) TV stations and LIN (29) are both exploring options to sell.

Email blast are now available at many local media outlets. Radio, TV and Newspaper outlets are lining up consumers to receive information. This is another option to reach specific groups.

Several new billboard companies have received permits to install additional boards throughout South Florida. Seaboard Outdoor, Next Media, Creative Outdoor and others have joined Clear Channel Outdoor, Lamar and CBS Outdoor in this cluttered field. Prices continue to increase...even though there is more competition.

Plan now for the upcoming Political season. The Presidential Primary is set for January 29, 2008. Candidates will hit local airwaves during 4th quarter of this year. The 'season' will extend throughout most of 2008.

The FCC has asked Congress to take action against violence on TV. They have requested Congress rewrite the indecency laws to include violence. They also want cable systems to allow consumer to select their cable networks.

News Corp. is looking to add to its media assets. They want to purchase Dow Jones and the Wall Street Journal.
